The Issaquah Schools Foundation funds programs for all 26 schools in the district. These programs are designed to support the whole child.
Programs
Our programs help students build academic foundations, explore limitless opportunities, and launch successfully into the future.
There is great history in programs the Issaquah Schools Foundation has been able to seed and cultivate into long standing opportunities for students.
The VOICE Mentor program was started by the Foundation in 2004 with 12 mentors serving 15 students. It is now a district program with hundreds of students supported by mentors every week. TEALS (Technology Education and Literacy in Schools) was an idea for computer science professionals to teach CS at the high school level. It was brought to the Issaquah Schools Foundation which funded a pilot of the program at Issaquah High in 2009. The program caught on and grew tremendously! TEALS is now run by Microsoft Philanthropies serving 17,000 students at over 500 high schools.

Academic Enrichment
The Issaquah Schools Foundation is proud to fund enrichment programs throughout the district. Academic enrichment programs offer students extracurricular classes where they can discover new hobbies, interests and activities outside the classroom setting and provide funding for library books, teacher grants, student impact scholarships, and other ways to explore furthering their education.

Academic Support
Students can often benefit from supplemental academic support, and to improve accessibility to academic support services, these Foundation-funded programs provide various resources.
Behavioral & Mental Health
Mental health is important at every stage of life and plays a critical role in shaping a child‘s social, emotional, and cognitive development. The most effective impact the Issaquah Schools Foundation has for our students is to support the overarching mental health resources for our district including professional development opportunities for staff along with curriculum for students.
Basic Student Needs
In every school in the Issaquah School District, students need support for a multitude of reasons. From food aid to combat hunger in the classroom, to free school supplies for families who can’t afford the expense, to emergency funds when all other options are exhausted, the Issaquah Schools Foundation is here to help.
Community Outreach
Cultural Bridges helps culturally diverse parents feel more confident becoming involved in school and supporting their students at home. The VOICE mentor program pairs caring adult or high school volunteers with students for one-on-one, supportive relationships.
Funding by School
Thanks to our generous donors, the Issaquah Schools Foundation is able to provide programs and grants annually to support the students and teachers in the Issaquah School District. Teachers are all encouraged to apply for grants each year and awards are made throughout the district.
*Not every school has a teacher or teachers who apply for grants each year.
