How does the Foundation differ from the PTSA?
The Issaquah Schools Foundation funds programs and resources that serve students attending all 27 schools within the Issaquah School District. Examples of Foundation efforts are funding programs, resources, and training that impact students at all 27 ISD schools, providing pilot program funding at a few schools with the intent/hope to expand to more schools, and engaging in strategic collaboration with the ISD to implement programs/resources district-wide. Generally speaking, this collaboration and the larger Foundation budget size allow for funding of larger programs and projects that serve more students. PTSA organizations work within a much smaller budget, bolstered with the support of parent volunteers, to provide programs and resources for only the one school they are based out of. The Foundation and PTSA organizations work together to bridge gaps and provide support for students!
