Artistic Support

The Artistic Support program provides opportunities for the development of innovative thinking through arts experiences, lessons, videos, and creativity training. The program offers free elementary art lesson plans which are aligned with state visual arts learning standards and are available district wide for use by volunteer art docents, parents, and teachers.

Art Docent Program

Issaquah School Foundation‘s Artistic Support program assists volunteer Art Docents who teach a wide variety of learning objectives based on the Elements or Art and Principles of Design. Please choose the grade you are interested in learning more about, then use the dropdown menu at the top of the next page to sort lessons by learning objectives or medium.

The Art Docent program, funded by the Issaquah Schools Foundation, provides plans, online learning opportunities, and talks.
 

Free Art Lesson Plans for Volunteer Docents

Designed around a scaffold of the Elements of Art and Principles of Design, this Elementary level curriculum has been tested by art docents in the classroom, reviewed by teachers and aligned to the Washington State Visual Arts Learning Standards. Click here for free art lesson plans.
 

Online Learning Opportunities

Join Juliette Ripley-Dunkelberger for video lessons featuring arts integrated with Social Emotional Learning (SEL) such as Drawing Practice for Mindfulness and other creativity exercises. 
 

Creativity Talks

Juliette Ripley-Dunkelberger offers talks about our need for innovation training. Innovation opportunities and creative thinking skills are easily found in arts education which can enhance a quality education.
